What to expect
Join this tour and explore the birthplace of the Renaissance!
From Piazza Santa Maria Novella in front of the Basilica, you will embark on this walking tour through the most iconic sites in the city, where the Medici family once fueled the rise of the Italian Renaissance.
Our first stop will be the majestic Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, better known as the Florence Duomo. Everywhere you look in this square, you'll find breathtaking artistic and architectural marvels, including Brunelleschi's famous dome, Giotto's bell tower, and Ghiberti's Gates of Paradise, which guard the entrance to the Baptistery of St. John.
Later, you will visit Piazza della Signoria, where is Palazzo Vecchio, where our expert guide will share with you a lot of interesting facts about the building and its owners throughout history. After that, you will continue to the Ponte Vecchio, an ancient bridge over the Arno River, famous for its unique architecture of stacked houses.
Your final stop will be the Uffizi Gallery, home to masterpieces by great artists of the Renaissance and beyond, where you will uncover the secrets behind famous paintings like Botticelli's The Birth of Venus, Leonardo da Vinci's The Annunciation, and Michelangelo's Doni Tondo.
In addition to these Italian masters, we won't miss other significant works by Raphael, Piero della Francesca, Giotto, Masaccio, and other famous Italian painters. The gallery also houses pieces by international artists like Velázquez, El Greco, and Rubens, which you can explore on your own after the tour.
